this morning, my grandma took her bedsheets down to wash, and

"didn't I tell you that I washed your bed linen just one week ago?"

that is what my mom told my grandma, exact tone in hokkien.

It has always been like that - her criticizing grandma for something (cooking wise or housework or planting), and I get pissed at her for being so rude to grandma and I will proceed to voice my unhappiness loudly and i admit, in a i-dont-respect you tone. She'll then scream at me for being rude to her and I 'retaliate' by saying that's what she is showing me by her talking like that to grandma. and then after the fight I realize I'm also being disrespectful by shouting at her.

and its a vicious cycle. it just keeps happening month after month.

its so hard verbalizing this thought out.

i believe besides a parent's love, all other loves are reciprocal.

there are ppl who meet, only during certain occasions. and the closest of friends do NOT do that.

a close friend of mine once told me that if i really treat someone as my dearest friend, every rejection should not prevent me from asking her out the next time. i had been sticking to that for the past 2 years, but enough might finally be enough.

if for every 10 rejections, you would make the effort to try organize one, i might not feel this way now. really touch your heart and tell me you did just that.

watched the first few mins of SPP's CST's speech and i closed the window, because i felt so much like crying. how frail he looked, and it pains my heart.

i hate:

how politics are unfair (ruling party prejudicing against opposition wards and not giving non-PAP MPs a decent place to hold their weekly mps, and so much more)

and how ungracious/less compassionate singaporeans are becoming because everyone seems to be more materialistic as the economy booms.

and how i am actually guilty of it.

i cant cant cant continue watching oppositions' rallies anymore, because i feel for the issues raised and i know for sure that nothing is going to change after this election. all the hypes wont translate into votes and we will still be sucking whatever the ruling party throws at us for the next 30years.

i'm living, i have to take it. but no way will i bring a new life to face this.

i made a choice long ago about my vote, but now i feel like being an irrational voter - vote opposing for the sake of opposing, even though i'm one insignificant voter out of 2.2million.

will stop caring about the rallies and all rational political debates online and just vote with my heart on may 7.

if i'm under bukit-timah - holland grc, i will vote for SDP because i believe in vincent wijeysingha.

if i'm under aljunied grc, i'll make sure i cross very very carefully beside the hammer logo, because i believe in low and lim.

if i'm under any grc/smc that the WP is contesting, i'll vote for them because i believe in their cause for the people.

but the sad truth is that i'm not under any of these constitutions.

i do not agree with the opposition at my area; the last sentence in my previous post still stands, so yeah what i'm voting is pretty obvious.

am i disagreeing that the current govt is not doing well? nope. in fact they are doing very well for singapore economically.

why i support the WP so much is that they are not not not not not attempting to takeover from the current govt, but believe in changing/ making a better parliament with more alternative voices. i have no doubts that the WP do not oppose EVERYTHING the pap comes up with in parliament, if its good for the country AND the PEOPLE, they will not oppose for the sake of opposing.

and hence for the next one week, i'm wearing blue (or red for vincent) and keeping my nails the colour of the WP.

thank you mr garment, for breaking down 'affordability' of HDB flats in yesterday's straits time.

$36 per month cash outlay for monthly installments. WAH! really affordable leh! teeny peeny sum of money out of HH income of $4600, because the rest can be fork out using our monthly CPF contribution - FOR THE NEXT 30 YEARS. assuming we get out flats when we are 28, 30 years we will be 58. THANKS HOR! reaching retirement liao and our CPF got NOTHING for retirement because for the past 30 years contribution we took it to pay the monthly installments.

YAY! finally after 30 years we cleared our HDB loan!! can retire liao! and live on what? eat grass lor! not enough money to buy grass ah? hawker centre hiring elderly to clean tables leh!!

how about the rest of your monthly household income, you may ask?

mr garment, you forgot that we still need to pay for transport, groceries, food and PUB bills ah?and hor, need to take care of our parents leh cause they not working liao. then hor, still got min protection insurance we need to buy leh, like life/health/home insurance. (n i never include that i wish to own a car you know, just a cheaper car like toyata i happy liao, no need like you all BMW/merz leh!) like that where got extra to save in our bank (which might as well be paying zero interest) to save for retirement.

eh you got discuss this with your fellow comrades in the garment not, neh the one who wants singaporean to increase fertility? no one so stupid leh! no money for my retirement liao you think i got money to have a kid in SINGAPORE ah! baby haven poop out jiu got so many fees to pay liao (you think v cheap ah!). then baby come out liao who take care? dont work where money to buy diapers and milk powder (not cheap also hor) for the baby? work liao who care for the baby?

of course all these doesnt bother you, you have ur million dollar salary to fall back on, but please take a look at the 'common' people, and not the higher tiered singaporeans whom your salaries are tied to. most work to their death and wont be able to even hit half of your salary, and their salary increment (emphasis: THEIRS, not yours hor you got 60%??!!!! increment leh!) can NEVER catch up with the increase in cost of living.

even if all votes are being tracked, it wont deter me from not voting for the ahgong's party.

i really love staying in singapore, because its safe, clean, doing well economically, and politically stable. and there's no denying that our current government is responsible for making singapore prosper the way it is today.

i love my family. warm and fuzzy inside when i think of them.

a few years ago, i wouldn't want to stay home or go out with my family, always choosing to go out with friends.

but since a year ago -

i enjoy having breakfast before sch with my ma and pa every saturday, or just tagging along on weekends if they have errands to run.

spending a little time talking to my sis (especially the lil one) every night before bedtime.

going places tog as a family which i used to hate when i was younger.

try to stay at home more on sundays when my relatives are here, or going to my maternal's grandma place if my ma is going.

all because i now know, family never fails. and are forever. <3<3>

as from the last post, i had the privilege of complimentary dining at pizzeria mozza last mon prior to their official opening.

and today, piggy was able to bring a person along with him for complimentary dining at osteria mozza.

they are the same restaurant but split into 2 with different dining concepts each.

forgot to bring a cam today, and my lousy bb cam doesnt capture the food nicely, so online pics again!!

Grilled Octopus with potatoes, celery & lemon

Mozza does octopus and squid very nicely! done just right.

Crispy Pigs Trotter with cicoria & mustard

Dont really like this. the filling was some gooey thing. i heard made of gelatin or something. but the salad was nice though.

Burrata with bacon, marinated escarole & carmelized shallots

They have a whole section on the menu for cheese starters. skipped it when we were ordering because jy said the serving was huge and i HATE stinky cheese so he dint ordered because its quite impossible to finish it alone. But after the whole meal, he wanted to try and proceeded to order one serving, expecting a huge chuck of it. was surprised that it came bruschetta styled and the cheese was surprisingly good. non of the foul cheese taste! Was glad that he decided to order it.

Cant rmb the name of the pasta. Its a very thick noodle like pasta, not the one in the pic. The serving was surprisingly small. (for $25) I guess the pastas are meant for sharing because the meat dishes we ordered are in a bigger portion (of course higher priced) and i guess thats the 'real' main course?

After the pasta came, we expected the fish dish to be in super small portion like those fine dining places. we were shocked when the fish was placed in front of us. it was a WHOLE fish, they de-boned it and roasted it. not a fan of fish, so to me it was so-so, but jy loved it cause it was super fresh.

Grilled Beef Tagliata rucola & Parmigiano with aceto balsamico

BEEF!!! need i say more?!!???!! okay its less chao dar and more reddish in the middle, more bloody which is LOVE! the best dish that i had (well its beef), but not nice enough to beat the one at mezza9 at hyatt hotel. but its goood, super good.

mountain huckleberry marmellata& vanilla gelato

Its dessert time! this is my dessert! the round round thing its something like doughnuts, super nice! but the berries and the cream below the gelato was too sour for me!

Couldnt find jy's dessert on the original menu from LA, so no pics i guess. His was something like our chinese eggrolls aka love letter with gelato stuff inside. His was better than mine in my opinion, but was actually too full to consider it super delicious!

Overall a very good experience and great food! but value for money pizzeria mozza is better, but more choices of food at Osteria since pizzeria only serves pizzas as mains.

YAY to complimentary =p great food! if not i guess i will never pay to go to the restaurant by choice. =) =)

met neo on mon after my 2nd last paper to pizzeria mozza (MBS) for dinner! complimentary dinner thanks to my dear, restaurant was having a dry run prior to their opening day so he could invite 2 friends! =)

pictures was allowed but i do not have the habit of taking pics of food before eating, so no picss! pizza was yummmy, crust is 100times better than pizzahut. starters was well done! but everything, EVERYTHING was on the salty side. dessert was great! but super sinful.

drove all the way from home to the airport the other day, superb feeling driving the car on 90km/hr along ECP! now i know why ppl say driving at 50km is slow. i dint even realised i hit 90km until my dad told me to not go any faster!

but of course the driving was a breeze that day because there was not much traffic at 730am on a sunday.

and i overcome something that i was afraid of - changing lanes! but again, on almost empty highway!!

my father's colleague loaned the dvd of this 1939 movie to him and one sat night we sat down tog and watched this 3hour film. basically the whole film is about the life of the female lead, scarlett o'hara.

what i liked about the movie was her whole life story was depicted in short short snippets. no long conversations (like those draggy tw serial) and a death of a character was over in one min.

and the clothes the female wore were oOoooOOooooOooo.

I LOVE <3<3

and they wore bonnets too!

of course i was wondering why aren't they sweating all over like a pig despite wearing so many layers of clothes.

and they have 18inch waist! 18 !!!!!!!!!
and after they gave birth, their waistline of 20inch is considered fat.
!!

if i have the motivation, i'll find more of these movies to watch. love love love the clothes.

PISSED! that i cant load pictures from the top 2 of my favorite blogshops.
its been a week and i keep hoping the next day will be fine.

tot was the webby's prob at first but apparently ppl in other parts of singapore are able to load the pics.

later i tot it was acer's prob because i tried loading the web on other acer laptops at home and non was able to load. then i tried with HP comp and cant.

next i used my phone to access wifi and still cant load. used my phone at kaplan using their wireless and CAN load the pics.

then was to jt house and her's loads perfectly.

finally today my relatives came and my godfather happened to have the singtel data device. so i disconnected from my house wireless and connected to the net via singtel mobile broadband and guess what? the pics were ALL loading even if the speed is slower.

so, WTF starhub?

i can feel that i'm walking on the edge of a cliff, but i can never see what it is there under, over the edge. it might be rocks, a big bed of jelly-0, the sea, huge inflated airbed, or nothing.............. i dont know what it is because i cant see it, i cant feel it.

can't move away from it, something/someone is holding me there preventing me from falling over, but cant pull me away to safety. i can't see who/what that is holding me, can't trust that he/she/it will not be the thing to push me over.

i dont like to use my brain.

a lecturer once told me that we should always be working our brain. sleeping is not for your brain to rest, but for your body to recover itself. we must always always think think and think.

so guilty when i heard it, because im blanking most of the time, even DURING lectures when that few hours should be spend concentrating on what the lecturer is saying and UNDERSTANDING it.

you know the fun part of studying is when i understand the theory, or understand how this formulae comes about, or understand any concepts that by understanding, i can skip the memorising for exams. but recently i realise my brain gets lazier and lazier and skip alot of understanding and resort to memorising.

found a sport that i really love! S-W-I-M-M-I-N-G! =)

went with sis on mon evening, and swam for a good 45mins! SWAM, not playing in the water! and it doesnt feel like i'm exercising at all, and the 45mins was not painful to pass, unlike the hated running which makes 5min seems like 5hrs.

finally started on the one thing that i wanna do, and its time to get consistent! =) =)
my motivation IS that horrendous pile that stacks higher and higher with each passing week!

anyone feels like swimming? come clementi and find me to swim tog k! =)

its easy to be happier, if you don't take things too seriously. by that i dont mean not being responsible for the things you are suppose to be responsible for. but stop being so hard on myself to try to be what i think ppl want me to be. its miserable to try to change, and not be happy at all.

and the way of escape is so not good for the pocket.

on a lighter note, my hamster (affectionately called sweetie pie) escaped from her cage. if you have seen before, its that fish tank cage of hers, making no bars or leverage for her to climb to the top. its a mystery as to how she managed to escape. and to the storeroom at the lower living room. (*note, her cage was at the upper living room and to get down she must jump down 4 steps)

because of that small furball, the whole family woke up at 7am! she was spotted (luckily) by my grandma and seriously at the last place anyone whould have thought of searching if she was discovered missing.

the poor thing was so firghtened (either by the surroundings or us for catching it back)that her eyes was almost popping out and she was on super high alert that anything that touches her will be subjected to an attack.

the whole sun spent with my dearest girls, easy flow of conversation and craps makes the whole day so relaxing. and of course the crazy squeezing "machiam queuing for cheap branded stuff like that". its probably my last time doing that kind of things, not much worth queuing (okay except the shoes that was NOT on offer).

mon with my sisters at JP. good to shop with them, but conflicts and tempers flare so much easier because they are my sisters. patience patience.

the new advertisement on family - "show by example", made me think of my mum. she shows the examples, negative ones to me, by her actions to my grandma - her mother-in-law. and sometimes i wonder how much negativity i got from her. if you still do not know, i'm stubborn, impatient, and very short tempered, and very very so in front of my family and him. not to friends, never, no matter how close, and i do wish i can treat my family and him like how i do to them. a little more patience, tolerance, initiative would refine my character up to the better side.

jy is not a sociable person, and as much as i hope he'll be, he will never be, with my friends or my family. "why do you love him?" was a question i never really knew how to answer. but now, i love him because he makes me a better person. patience and more tolerance and a better child to my parents and grandma.

dragged jy to watch nine - the movie with me. he doesn't like musical kind of movie but there was nicole kidman, and the trailer on penelope cruz's very sexy dance, i had to watch it.

i couldn't decide whether i had positive or negative feelings for the movie. halfway through the movie, i thought of leaving the theatre, reason was because the plot was kind of messy and seems disconnected.

but the reason not to miss the movie is her:

marion cotillard.

she is the soul of the movie! her 2 songs "my husband makes movies" and "take it all" are breathtaking. the slow piece hits you more than the other fast, dance songs in the movie. her eyes can act, you can feel her pain in her eyes.

her second song portrayed the character's point of realization and despair acutely. the director (rob marshall) combined the dance and the song perfectly. without it the song might not had stand out.

nicole kidman is elegant. but in the movie she is just that, nothing much. but i just love to see her on screen, she is so beautiful.

so-so plot, but good music and screen play, AWESOME marion cotillard. not a movie to love, but not to be missed.

this part of the post must be written in chinese, cant express it in english. =(

那一天，陪阿妈到四马路拜拜之后，陪她回大巴窑的巴刹见一见老朋友。

大巴窑是我出生的第一个家，所以那间巴刹是个从小就非常熟悉的地方。阿妈的朋友，就是在那里买油条的。还住在大巴窑时，阿妈每天都会到那摊帮忙。而我和妹妹没事就会往巴刹跑，拿面粉在桌上乱搓，等阿妈 “下班”。对油条摊的阿妈和哥哥，和周围的那几摊摊主，真的是非常熟悉。当然，阿妈不煮的时候，也都在巴刹解决，对那里的吃当然也很爱。

在十五岁的那年，爸把房子卖了，搬走了。

这么多年了，回到那巴刹的次数，用一只手就能数得。在那兜留的时间更只是吃一顿饭那么短，也从没和那些认识的阿姨，叔叔打招呼。唯有阿妈会三步五时会去和老朋友打交道。

隔了6年，再一次回到那里，感觉其实不陌生，只是一种感慨。我还认得那些阿姨们，但他们却都不认得我了。因为有阿妈在，他们才知道我是阿妈的孙女。

再逛逛巴刹里的摊位，以为会面目全非，但看到好多好多摊位还是跟六年前的一摸一样。问自己，为什么会已为那里要有什么改变呢? 呆在那里的几个小时，每每都有怀念的感觉，因为那里真的真的感受到人情的温暖。街坊都热情的叙暖彼此，让我想到在这里，有些问候，只不过是礼貌性的点点头，微笑。

只有阿妈在这里，还有和几位老婆婆很熟悉。

下一代的我们，真的变得很没有人情味了吧。

when i learned that micheal jackson passed away. it was a "oh he passed away." news to me instead of the "OH MY GOD HE PASSED AWAY! HOW CAN THAT BE? MUST BE AN APRIL FOOL'S JOKE JUST THAT IT IS NOT APRIL NOW? " reaction.

i've got no idea that some of the english songs that are familiar were his creation.

therefore when his movie, "this is it", was out, it was not a must see for me. in fact it was at the bottom of my movies to watch list. not biased, but im not his fan and the trailer made the movie seems like a documentary and i have something against paying money to watch documentary.

but. jy wanted to watch it so we bought the tickets and got in. the theatre was half full. was a good turnout considering that it was a weekday night.

this documentary turned out to be great!

had mj been alive, his coming back concert would have been the best concert EVER!! not just the songs, but his creativity on how he brings his audience into the song, the plot he sets for each song are special! and the movie brings us to behind the scenes which shows his talent for music - what beats exactly he wants, the speed, the entrance of each beat, the efffect, the pitch, the combination.

its a pity. anyway go see the documentary!! :)

if you haven already know, i got 'fired' from my tuition job.

okay they said that i was too nice to the kids. too nice? seriously ii cant figure out what does that mean. nice because im not screaming at their kids? or nice because im not giving them alot of hw? im thinking they are too nice to say that i suck?

im jobless again so no more income. *sigh*

its so hard to save money. spending more than necessary, and so many more birthdays and each bdae can easily make me cough up AT LEAST 50bucks. thats my one week allowance. im trying to cut down on my spendings by not going out. I'll admit that I'm not exactly broke-broke. There's still money in the bank, but I hate myself every single time i have to dig into it to spend on entertainment. I'm trying to survive solely on my allowance, ONLY on my allowance. pls understand if i reject any dinner dates yup?

and i got back my results, passed 3 out of 4. the one i failed is the audit paper. no surprise there cause i expected it. i even expected to fail one of the other paper but surprisingly ii passed. but im not happy at all. not not not at all because the marks are horrendous. 60, 58, 59. BLEARGHHHHHHHHHHHH! and one of it is for business law. damn it!

self studying is a nightmare for someone like me who lacks absolute discipline.

why must we study so hard getting a piece of paper without knowing how successful you'll be in your career. If you're good, say hello to a high salary but goodbye to your social life. If you're lousy, getting the low range of salary for the rest of your career and strangle to build a family with growing general inflation outrunning your growth in salary. What is the point in slogging your whole life?

what is the meaning of life?

until i figure that out, im not going to have children in future, not going to bring a life into this planet, only to have them face the harsh reality of life.

im being bitter. there are the ppl in my life which makes me very happy everyday. the point is, I just want to play still!

21. no pressure from anyone, but somehow i find me giving pressure to myself to do something to take charge of my own life, primarily fiancial wise.

let me be realistic. there is no way i'll be able to study full time without depending on my parents, the best i can do is to provide for myself my daily expenses, transport, and shopping. first step towards that: took 2 tuition assignments.

money is so difficult to earn, so easy spent.

i need to save up for the list of things that i want to do when i start earning proper salary after i graduate:

1. for my vainity
- a coach bag
- SK II products
- Beijing 101 hair treatment (OF COURSE NEED ONE LAR! TOP OF THE LIST!)

2. for my family
- education for my youngest sis

- iceland to see the beautiful aurora
- tasmania
- somewhere which the girls and i said we must go when we are 30. i forgot.

it may not necessary happen, but it is what i'll eventually hope for.

making a list is so helpful. I'm feeling so guilty now for spending so much money on clothes and shoes when those money could have been invested in some kind of thing. argh!
